HISTORY
S2T is an effort by the AIDS Bereavement & Resiliency Program of Ontario to respond to the needs of long-term survivors for supportive ways to address multiple loss.
THRIVE has participated in many S2T Retreats with ABRPO throughout our history. Since the creation of THRIVE’s Turning To One Another Working Group (TTOA WG), Peers have been trained in facilitation so that they could create a larger scope for supporting their Peers.
TODAY
After feedback from Peers and participants our S2T retreat looks much different than the multiple loss journey. The agenda is all about growth, building skills and self-care learning. Our Peer Facilitators develop retreat activities that focus on motivation and how to support each other. The retreat usually happens in May and people living with HIV are welcome to register. If you are a registered participant at THRIVE, your retreat costs are covered by us, if not, you can still register but there will be a cost for you to attend. There are limited spots and all applicants will be notified whether or not they are accepted. For more information contact The KW Support Coordinator.
The retreat is 3 days in a camp setting with shared accommodations.
This is a working retreat with self-care activities on the agenda. The Peers strive to create a supportive atmosphere that provides opportunity to learn how to develop skills and build the capacity for each individual.
